Your lung specialist partner

High quality imaging and accurate reporting

Chest Scan works closely with trusted radiology providers, offering high-quality chest and lung scans and expert subspecialty reporting.

Using the latest technology, our team ensures your reports are accurate, timely, and easy to understand.

Our partnerships mean your patients get the care they need, when they need it — with a focus on comfort, clarity, and the best possible health outcomes.

Screening Pathway

Chest Scan has been designed to support referrers in helping their patients access the lung cancer screening they need.

GP Assessment

Assess the eligbility of your patients for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. If eligible refer your patient for a low-dose chest CT through one of our radiology partners.

Imaging

Patients book a low-dose chest CT scan directly through one of our imaging partners. Their scan will be bulk billed.

Results Sent

Our radiology partners will send you a structured radiology report (Standardised Volumetric Doubling Time (VDT) monitoring is used). Initial and subsequent scans will be reported using PanCan Nodule Management Protocol.

Follow Up Scans

The National Cancer Screening Register will not hold scan images, but will provide patients with reminders. Consistent use of the same radiology provider is good practice to ensure accurate and comparable data over time.

Our Radiology Partners

Expert care, accessibly delivered

Chest Scan has partnered with expert radiology providers across Australia to ensure lung cancer screening is accessible to those who need it.

Our partnerships provide you dedicated chest subspecialty radiology support to detect and diagnose lung cancers earlier when more treatment options are available.

Our Reporting

Accurate results, quick turnaround

Using the latest low-dose CT technology and supported by chest subspecialty radiologists, our radiology partners can ensure timely, safe, and accurate reporting.

For the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, our radiology partners will provide a structured report from a chest subspecialty radiologist using Volumetric Doubling Time (VDT) monitoring. Initial and subsequent scans will be reported using the PanCan Nodule Malignancy Risk Calculator to determine the malignancy risk for a particular nodule.

To access your patient’s images and report, please follow the usual process through the associated imaging partner.

Our Innovation

Investing in technology

We ensure our radiology partners constantly research and source the latest world-class technology from the leading healthcare manufacturers.

Investment in the leading technologies ensures the speed, comfort, and accuracy you and your patients deserve.

Our radiology partners are dedicated to providing the best for their referrers and patients and have all invested in leading low-dose CT technologies to ensure patient safety without compromising on accuracy.

ongoing patient support

Nodule Management Protocol

The PanCan Nodule Malignancy Risk Calculator is a validated and evidence based volumetric software tool, which optimises selection of low-risk and high-risk patients at baseline, to determine their % malignancy risk for that nodule.

You will be alerted to your patient’s categorisation in their radiologist report and can refer them for the necessary subsequent scans.

Because of Chest Scan’s network across Australia, you can refer to any of our radiology partners to ensure comparison between all images to ensure accuracy and a deeper understanding of your patient’s lungs.
